We grow Strawberries at all our sites!

All of the varieties of fruit we grow are chosen with you in mind - unlike the supermarkets who look for long shelf life and firm skins for travelling.

There are dozens of different varieties of Strawberries. On our sites we grow a selection of five or six.

EARLY VARIETIES

ROSIE – firm skin, glossy appearance, excellent sweet flavour.

EMILY – deep red colour skin, strength is good, moderately firm with a sharp flavour.

HONEOYE – medium to large fruit with glossy red flesh, good flavour.

ELVIRA – large and firm, well flavoured, liked by PYO (Pick Your Own), keeps well.

MID SEASON

ELSANTA – firm skin, good flavour, medium to large fruit, good shelf life, very attractive glossy appearance.

HAPIL – good appearance on plant, firm and bright, medium to large, excellent appearance when picked.

ALICE – attractive fruit, good shelf life, sweet and juicy, a popular variety.

CAMBRIDGE FAVOURITE - grown in the UK from the 1950's, a good all round berry.

LATE SEASON

PEGASUS – medium to large size fruit, bright and glossy, good PYO variety.

SYMPHONY- medium to large size fruit, good quality, attractive glossy red flesh, moderately firm, excellent flavour.

FLORENCE – regular shape, firm skin and flesh, dark red colour when ripe, excellent flavour, large in size.

RHAPSODY – bright and glossy, medium to large fruit, good PYO fruit.
